Graphic Workshop Professional 15 Revision 3

Graphic Workshop Professional 15 has been updated.

In this release:

• JPEG: The Graphic Workshop Turbo JPEG library has been updated to version 3.0.1 to address a security issue. We'd like to take this opportunity to urge all users of Graphic Workshop to update to this release, 'coz the universe has a lot of really bad people in it.
  
  
• MOZ JPEG: The Graphic Workshop MOZ JPEG plugin has been updated to version 4.1.4, and Graphic Workshop's internal interface for it has been expanded to make it a lot quicker when it's called by the Graphic Workshop supercompressor.
  
  If you use the MOZ JPEG plugin to create the smallest possible JPEG documents, be sure to install this update.
  
  
• Favor Turbo JPEG: The Favor Turbo JPEG option in the JPG, PNG and WebP tab of Graphic Workshop's Setup window will allow Graphic Workshop to use the shockingly quick Turbo JPEG library to read JPEG documents even if you've selected another JPEG Processor to write them. This is exceedingly cool if you've installed the aforementioned MOZ JPEG plugin to create really small JPEG files, but want to view JPEGs without delay.
  
  
• Turbo Fast DCT: While a complete explanation of this parameter could put bricks to sleep, the Turbo JPG Fast DCT option in Graphic Workshop's Setup could hitherto have been ignored by the Turbo JPEG library in some circumstances. This has been nailed. For most applications of Graphic Workshop, this option should be disabled. You'll find it in the JPG, PNG and WebP tab... along with an explanation to put bricks to sleep, should you read the Help for it.
  
  
• Matrix: A number of simple two-row matrix styles have been added to the Matrix window. Look toward the end of the matrix list for Wallpaper.
  
  
• Write File Comments: A bug in the file comment write logic that appeared under some configurations of Windows is history.
  
  
• Animation Workshop UltraLight: A number of issues with the Animation Workshop UltraLight rendering engine's object removal logic have been addressed.
  

Announcing Pagan Daybook 15

Pagan Daybook 15 has been released.

We've added new functionality to Pagan Daybook, improved its performance and generally refined it to better get along with Windows 10 and 11. (We hasten to add that it still performs admirably under earlier builds of Windows, all the way back to Windows XP, if you're feeling retro.)

Among the new features and enhancements to Pagan Daybook 15, you'll find...

• Random Screen Savers: The Select Screen Saver item in the Pagan Daybook right-click menu now includes a random theme selector, to further change Pagan Daybook's appearance when it appears as a screen saver.
  
  
• Welcome Wizard: The Pagan Daybook Welcome Wizard now includes an option to pre-configure your preferences for instantly variable screen savers. We hasten to add that you can further adjust them any time you like through the Select Screen Saver window. You can also run Welcome Wizard from the right-click menu of Pagan Daybook to access this feature if you're updating from an earlier edition of Pagan Daybook.
  
  
• JPEG: The Pagan Daybbok JPEG library has been updated to version 3.0.1 to address a security issue. We'd like to take this opportunity to urge all users of Pagan Daybook to update to this release, 'coz the universe has a lot of really bad people in it.
  
  
• WebP: The WebP library has been updated to improve its performance.
  
  
• New Themes and Backgrounds: A selection of hitherto unseen themes and screen saver backgrounds is included with Pagan Daybook 15.
  
  
• Speed: A quicker and more efficient architecture to make the most of the latest releases of Windows.
  
  
• Theme Editor: A number of issues in the Theme window have been addressed, most notably its propensity for crashing on occasion, depending on your configuration of Windows. An issue that could prevent the 64-bit edition of Pagan Daybook from saving newly-edited themes has also been stomped.
  
  
• Memory Leak: A resource memory issue that could cause Pagan Daybook to terminate unexpectedly has been addressed.
  
  
• Cloud Textures: A bug that could crash themes using cloud texture backgrounds is no more.
  
  
• Rendering Engine: A number of metrics and details have been improved in the background drawing engines for Pagan Daybook.
  
  
• Observance Database: The database of observances has been updated.
  
  
• Performance: Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with.
  
  
• Documentation: Updates the documentation.

Announcing Animation Workshop 15

Animation Workshop 15 has been released.

We've added new functionality to Animation Workshop, improved its performance and generally refined it to better get along with Windows 10 and 11. (We hasten to add that it still performs admirably under earlier builds of Windows, all the way back to Windows XP, if you're feeling retro.)

Among the new features and enhancements to Animation Workshop 15, you'll find...

• Speed: A quicker and more efficient architecture to make the most of the latest releases of Windows.
  
  
• Animated PNG: Animation Workshop will now import animated PNG animations... even the really weird ones.
  
  
• WebP Security: Animation Workshop's WebP library has been updated to the latest release to address some security issues.
  
  We'd like to urge all users of Animation Workshop to update to this release as quickly as possible.
  
  
• Rendering Engine: A number of issues with the Animation Workshop rendering engine's object removal logic have been addressed.
  
  
• Themes: An issue in the theme interface common to most Alchemy Mindworks software that could leak resources and occasionally crash the applications in question has been mercilessly stomped.
  
  
• Animations on Background: Animation Workshop will now automatically enable its On Background option for imported animations when it thinks they require this option. You can disabuse it of doing so in Setup. See the discussion of Object Removal in the Animation Workshop manual for more about this.
  
  
• Click to Close: Animation Workshop's View window can now be closed by clicking outside it. This behavior can be disabled in Setup if you find you don't like it.
  
  
• Performance: Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with.
  
  
• Documentation: Updates the documentation.

If you haven't done so previously, we recommend that you install the Alchemy Mindworks trusted certificate and disable the Smart Screen blue window of doom prior to downloading Alchemy Mindworks software.

Click on the blue button to download Animation Workshop 15.

Upgrades

If you have registered or upgraded a registration for Animation Workshop 14 on or after June 1, 2023, you're welcome to a no-cost upgrade to Animation Workshop 15.

If you have registered or upgraded a registration for Animation Workshop 14 prior to June 1, 2023, we invite you to upgrade to Animation Workshop 15 for half the current new-user price.

The first time you run Animation Workshop 15, it will determine which upgrade option applies to your license.
