Presentation
Wizard 11 has been released. We've further refined its
architecture to make it more memory-efficient, and to
better utilize the resources available under Windows
10. (We hasten to add that it still performs admirably
under earlier builds of Windows, all the way back to
Windows XP if you're feeling retro.)
Among the new
features and enhancements to Presentation
Wizard 11, you'll find that it:
- JPG
Security: Updates the library that reads and
writes JPG documents for Presentation Wizard to
address several potential security issues.
We'd like to urge all the users of Presentation
Wizard to update to this release
immediately.
- Image
Libraries: All the libraries that read and
write graphics for Presentation
Wizard
have been reviewed to ensure that they're secure
and totally bulletproof. There being some really
disagreeable people under many of the rocks of the
Internet, we urge all the users of our software to
keep its security elements up to date.
- Paint:
Adds a Select Paint button to Presentation
Wizard's
Setup window, allowing the default external paint
application to be selected without recourse to
editing Presentation Wizard's
configuration data.
Click on Select Paint in the Files / Display tab of
Presentation
Wizard's
Setup window.
The Help button in the Select Paint window will
explain everything... trust us.
- Paragraph
Text: Updates the Paragraph Text object editor
to correctly handle tab characters, and invoke bold,
italic, underscore and strike-through text with
Ctrl-B, Ctrl-I, Ctrl-U and Ctrl-S respectively.
- Edge
Support: Presentation Wizard
will now find the Microsoft Edge web browser to
display its documentation.
- Animation
Editor: Fixes a bug in the animation object
editor Preview window, which could render animation
backgrounds incorrectly.
- Alternate
Paint: If you have registered the current
releases of Alchemy Mindworks e-Paint, Alpha Paint
or Graphic Workshop with e-Paint UltraLight, hold
down the Ctrl key when you click on a Paint button
in Presentation Wizard to call for one of these
alternate paint applications. The alternate paint
selection logic will call e-Paint for graphics
without alpha transparency, and Alpha Paint for
graphics that have alpha transparency.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and
performance issues that software developers never
really stop meddling with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

We've
enhanced functionality of The Ultimate Screen Clock,
added some radical new clock styles, improved its
performance and generally refined it to better get
along with Windows 10. (We hasten to add that it still
performs admirably under earlier builds of Windows,
all the way back to Windows XP if you're feeling
retro.)
Among the new
features and enhancements to The Ultimate Screen Clock, you'll find that
it:
- Deck Watch: Adds the
Deck Watch clock style, available in two sizes and
in light and dark manifestations — the
dark version is shown here.
A revenant from the age of sail, a deck watch such
as this one would have been used to transfer the
time from a ship's chronometer to the navigator on
deck. While a fifty-dollar GPS could out-navigate
one of these things in a heartbeat today, it
wouldn't look anywhere near as cool while it was
doing so.
We hasten to add that the above clock is an
animation, not actual software. There's a one in
3600 chance that it's actually
displaying the correct time as you read this.
- Magento:
Adds the Magneto clock style, illustrated to your
right. Incandescent, luminous, attitude with
atomic-time precision... the Magneto style belongs
on your desktop and it isn't above pushing some of
your other applications out of the way to get there.
It comes in a substantial number of permutations of
colors and sizes.
The animation
above is but a pale reflection of the Magneto
style. Double-click on it to see the Magneto Large
clock full size — there's a medium size set of
styles as well. Once again, the above
clock is an animation, not actual software.
There's a one in 3600 chance
that it's actually displaying the correct time
as you read this.
- Sound
Effects: Adds optional sound effects to The
Ultimate Screen Clock's screen saver. It can beep
and crash and zap and generally express itself
whenever the moving clock changes direction, appears
or otherwise does something interesting.
You can enable or disable screen saver sounds in the
Application tab of The Ultimate Screen Clock's Setup
window. Click on the Sounds button therein to
configure your choice of the substantial internal
library of sound effects, or import your own.
- Saver
Backgrounds: Adds a number of new screen
saver background graphics fresh from an alternate
universe. Right-click in The Ultimate Screen Clock
and select Styles → Select Saver Style, and then
click on Transitions to experience the entire
library.
The new Tendrils screen saver background with the
large red Magneto clock style floating over it is
truly epic.
In addition to fractal textures and other abstract
content, The Ultimate Screen Clock can use
photographs as its screen saver backgrounds. We've
added a few examples to the library of backgrounds.
No wolves were harmed in the making of this
application — and happily, no photographers.
- Engine:
Updates the clock rendering engine to improve the
appearance of various style elements.
- Image
Libraries: All the libraries that read and
write graphics for The
Ultimate Screen Clock
have been reviewed to ensure that they're secure
and totally bulletproof. There being some really
disagreeable people under many of the rocks of the
Internet, we urge all the users of our software to
keep its security elements up to date.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues
that software developers never really stop meddling
with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.
As in years
past, when you run The Ultimate Screen Clock 11 for the first
time, it will look for a previous installation of The Ultimate
Screen Clock 10 and optionally copy your
existing configuration, so you won't have to set
everything up by hand.
Click on the
blue button to download The
Ultimate Screen Clock 11.
Note that in
addition to installing The Ultimate Screen Clock,
you'll probably also want to install The Ultimate
Screen Clock Extra Styles library, which will
augment it with wealth of additional clock styles,
including some of the ones mentioned herein. The Extra
Styles library is also accessible through this big
blue button.

Depending upon your configuration of Windows, the
installer for The Ultimate Screen Clock may advise you
that a reboot of Windows is required to complete the
installation of this software. You can largely ignore
this message — Windows will remove a file from your
previous installation the next time your computer
reboots, but your current installation of The Ultimate
Screen Clock can proceed without rebooting immediately.
