GIF Construction Set Professional 10
Revision 5
|
GIF Construction
Set 10 has been updated. Among its new and enhanced
features are:
- Application
Security: In our continuing determination to
ensure that GIF Construction Set presents
no opportunities for cybercretins to exploit, we've
done a line-by-line review of its source code to
find any potential buffer overruns. Several turned
up. Now they're history.
We urge all users of GIF Construction Set to update
to the current release and nail these
vulnerabilities before they nail you.
- Photostack:
The Photostack window now has an
anti-alias option to improve its drawing
quality — a lot.
- Supercompressor:
A bug that prevented the Prune option of the
Sueprcompressor from working as effectively as it
could have has been remorselessly stomped.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance
issues that software developers never really stop
meddling with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

Graphic Workshop Professional - 10
Cool Features
|
Graphic Workshop
Professional 10 is rich with functionality... some of
which you might not know it has. Here are ten
leading-edge features you can access in Graphic
Workshop.
- Supercompresor:
The JPEG supercompressor will let you
interactively refine your JPG graphics to make them
as small as you need them to be, with the best
possible image quality. Master the nuances of JPEG
without having to read up on quality factors,
sub-sampling or color models.
- Print
Poster: Sometimes 8½ by 11 inches really
doesn't cut it. Fire up the Print Poster window in
Graphic Workshop to have your pictures printed over
multiple pages that can be cut and assembled into
posters of any size you require. Let your best work
be seen from space.
- Photo
Fine-Tune: The Photo Fine-Tune filter in the
the View mode Filter window will refine your
photographs with a few mouse clicks. It combines
color adjustment, contrast and brightness and tone
mapping... all in a simple, intuitive environment
that won't require that you understand a word of the
sentence you just read.
- EXIF:
Your graphic documents can contain EXIF metadata
that defines the camera settings you used when you
took your pictures; the GPS location of your camera;
hidden content about the camera and attachments
involved and much more. Graphic Workshop's EXIF
editor will let you adjust these fields as you see
fit. Its EXIF security window will optionally delete
your EXIF data entirely, so the pictures you post to
social media don't tell the world's subspecies
precisely where to go to steal your stuff.
- Watermark: Add
professional text or graphic watermarks to your
pictures to permanently identify them as your
work. Share your photographs, not your royalties.
- GWS
Camera Screen Capture: Capture all or part of
your Windows desktop to graphic files with your
choice of options. Graphic Workshop's screen capture
can automatically locate the topmost window on your
desktop and save it without requiring that you
manually select it. It will store
sequentially-numbered captures without interaction.
It can even include your current cursor.
- Photography
Workshop: Adjust your photographs using a
gallery of pre-configured imaging filters for
effects that range from subtle and sophisticated to
heart-stoppingly extraterrestrial. Open any picture
in the Photography Workshop window and just click on
the variation you like.
- Identify
Mystery Graphics: If you've ever downloaded a
picture from the Internet and discovered that it
won't open in any of your installed software, you'll
find Graphic Workshop's ability to determine what's
in your mysterious files to be just this side of
spooky. Double-click on a problem graphic from
within Graphic Workshop... or use its dedicated
Identify Mystery Files menu option... to have it
determine the correct file type in question and
rename your file correctly.
- The
UltraLight Screen Clock: A simplified version
of our popular Ultimate Screen Clock application,
the screen clock that installs with Graphic Workshop
will display your choice of digital and analog
desktop clocks. Sufficiently cool to shatter
penguins, you can have the clock configured to your
liking in substantially less time than you've taken
to read this paragraph.
- Icon
Editor: Create and modify Windows icons with
an easily-mastered palette of tools and
functionality. Customize your desktop and build
unforgettable favicons for your web pages. If this
application was any easier to use it would work by
thought control... and our lawyers would scream
loudly enough to be heard in Patagonia.

Presentation Wizard 10 Revision 2 (second notification)
|
Presentation
Wizard 10 has been updated. Among its new and enhanced
features are:
- Animated PNG:
Presentation Wizard now supports animated PNG in
its animation import functionality, an example of
which appears to your right. Enjoy the state of
the art in animation... and let GIF become a
distant memory possibly resulting from eating the
wrong kind of mushrooms.
- Animation
Engine: Presentation Wizard's animation
engine has been refined, improved and accelerated
past the speed of light. It's tighter, more
accurate and bereft of a few bugs that crept into
earlier releases.
- JPEG
Security: Updates the primary JPG
libraries used by Presentation
Wizard to the latest release. This
addresses a potential security issue. We urge
all the users of our software to keep it up to
date and stay ahead of file vulnerabilities...
there are some really bad people hiding under
rocks as you read this, doing everything they
can to ruin your day.
- PNG
Security: Updates the primary PNG libraries
used by Presentation Wizard to the latest
release. This addresses several potential security
and image quality issues.
- Application
Security: Addresses a particularly stealthy
and pernicious memory issue which afflicts the
internal configuration logic and themes used by Presentation
Wizard. Left to its own devices,
this one could crash these applications and
potentially compromise your Windows security.
In addition, in our continuing determination to
ensure that Presentation Wizard
presents no opportunities for cybercretins to
exploit, we've done a line-by-line review of its
source code to find any potential buffer overruns.
Several turned up. Now they're history.
We urge all users of Presentation Wizard to
update to the current release and nail these
vulnerabilities before they nail you.
- Legacy
Windows: Support for Windows screen drivers
with eight or fewer bits of color has been removed
from Presentation Wizard and its document run-time.
This has made the run-time somewhat smaller and
substantially faster when it's asked to display
still or animated graphics. Eight-bit Windows screen
drivers haven't been a thing since the turn of the
century — they won't be missed.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues
that software developers never really stop meddling
with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

Wizard 10.

PNG MNG Construction Set 10 Revision 4
(second
notification)
|
PNG MNG
Construction Set 10 has been updated. Among its new and
enhanced features are:
- Frame:
An issue with the Frame window that prevented it
from correctly adding frames to WebP animations
has been addressed.
- Animation
Wizard: A configuration issue with Animation
Wizard which caused it to create animations in
which all the frames were completely transparent
if the Use As Is option was selected and Preserve
Transparency was enabled has been nailed.
- Eyedropper:
A bug that caused the Eyedropper color selector in
the Transparency editor for still PNG documents to
malfunction has been fixed.
- Photostack:
The Photostack window now has an anti-alias option
to improve its drawing quality — a lot.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance
issues that software developers never really stop
meddling with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

The Ultimate Screen Clock 10 Revision
2
(additional notification)
|
The Ultimate
Screen Clock 10 has been updated. Among its new and
enhanced features are:
- Oracle Style: Adds
the Oracle clock style, a dark, sinister and
evocative feature for any desktop. The Oracle style
comes in two sizes, each one with enough attitude to
divert a raging bull elephant and convince it to
pursue a career in glassblowing. Your mileage may
vary, but if you do get the whole elephant thing to
work out, we'd be interested in seeing your videos.
We hasten to add that the clock illustrated here is
an animation, not actual software. The odds of it
happening to be telling you the correct time as you
read this are really, really long.
- Screen
Saver: Addresses an issue in The Ultimate
Screen Clock's screen saver which could cause it to
display some textured backgrounds with incomplete
tiling under some configurations of Windows.
This update also adds a number of new background
textures for The Ultimate Screen Clock's screen
saver.
- Application
Security: Addresses a particularly stealthy
and pernicious memory issue which afflicts the
internal configuration logic used by The Ultimate
Screen Clock. Left to its own devices, this one
could crash these applications and potentially
compromise your Windows security.
In addition, in our continuing determination to
ensure that The Ultimate Screen Clock presents no
opportunities for cybercretins to exploit, we've
done a line-by-line review of its source code to
find any potential buffer overruns. Several turned
up. Now they're history.
We urge all users of The Ultimate Screen Clock to
update to the current release and nail these
vulnerabilities before they nail you.
- Pressure Style: Adds the
Pressure style, in two sizes and lots of colors, as
illustrated here. Its digits appearing to have been
pressed from the sort of single-use plastic that
sends green people into low Earth orbit, the
Pressure style is cheerful, insouciant and probably
soon to be made illegal on the west coast.
- Dissolve:
Adds dissolve animated options to selected
digital clock styles. Rather than simply changing
digits, many of The Ultimate Screen Clock's digital
styles can also dissolve between them. The dissolve
effect is subtle but intriguing. Select the digital
dissolve options in the clock style window to see
this one at work. Note that most of the dissolve
options are installed by the newly-updated extra
styles library.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues
that software developers never really stop meddling
with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

Clock 10.
Extra Styles
In addition to
The Ultimate Screen Clock itself, the extra styles
library for The Ultimate Screen Clock 10 has also been
updated. Its download buttons can be found by clicking
on the above DOWNLOAD NOW button, right after those of
the clock itself. We recommend that users of The
Ultimate Screen Clock also install the new extra styles
library to access its full palette of available clock
styles.

Screen Clock 9, we invite you to upgrade to The
Ultimate Screen Clock 10 for half the single-user
license price.
