Graphic Workshop Professional 14 Revision 6

Graphic Workshop Professional 14 has been updated.

In this release:

• JPEG Security: The Graphic Workshop JPEG library has been updated to the latest release to address several potential security and performance issues. We'd like to take this opportunity to urge all users of Graphic Workshop to update to this release, 'coz the universe has a lot of really bad people in it.
  
  The current version of the JPEG library is available in the About → Credits window. It's currently 2.1.5.1.
  
  
• Multiple Selection: The multiple image selection window in Graphic Workshop — which gets involved with animations, videos and multiple-image graphic documents — has had a number of issues addressed. Its selected image resolution display is now working correctly under all configurations of Windows, and it always updates its preview image correctly, among others.
  
  
• Delete: The file deletion functions of Graphic Workshop have been updated. You can configure the prompt window to appear or not, as you wish. The progress window won't pop up for single document deletions — it had become so quick as to be pretty much unreadable previously. Graphic Workshop will play an audible confirmation sound when it deletes single files.
  
  
• Undo Delete: Graphic Workshop now has an Undo Delete function. If you delete one or more documents from within a Graphic Workshop browser window to the Windows recycle bin and then think better of their disappearance, select Undo Delete from the Edit menu, or hit Ctrl-Z. Be sure to read the section of the Reference document that deals with file deletion to get this feature fully surrounded.
  
  Undo Delete is only available in the 64-bit edition of Graphic Workshop.
  
  
• ICO Thumbnails: The logic that selects images from Windows ICO files to create Graphic Workshop's thumbnails has been improved to generate more attractive, readable ones.
  
  
• WebP: Nails a bug that caused eight-bit animations and videos converted to WebP to turn red under some configurations of Windows.
  
  
• AVI: Addresses an issue that prevented some animation formats from being converted to AVI video.

Announcing Screen Saver Construction Set 14

Screen Saver Construction Set 14 has been released.

• JPEG Security: The Screen Saver Construction Set JPEG library has been updated to the latest release to address several security and performance issues. We'd like to take this opportunity to urge all users of Screen Saver Construction Set to update to this release, 'coz the universe has a lot of really bad people in it.
  
  The current version of the JPEG library is available in the About → Credits window. It's currently 2.1.4.
  
  
• PNG Security: The Screen Saver Construction Set PNG library has been updated to the latest release to address several security and performance issues.
  
  The current version of the PNG library is available in the About → Credits window. It's currently 1.6.39.
  
  
• WebP: The WebP library has been updated to the latest release to address several security and performance issues.
  
  The current version of the WebP library is available in the About → Credits window. It's currently 1.3.0.
  
  
• Speed: The low-level pixel logic for Screen Saver Construction Set has been re-written in optimized machine language. Since much of what Screen Saver Construction Set does involves managing pixels, it has become substantially quicker.
  
  
• Colors: The color selection window that appears whenever Screen Saver Construction Set prompts you to select a color has been enhanced with an expanded palette of more contemporary colors — scroll to the bottom of the list to see them. In addition, you can now re-arrange the color list by dragging and dropping its items.
  
  
• User Interface: An issue that caused pretty weird cosmetic issues when the multiple object selection mode of the page editor was employed has been stomped. It won't make that mistake again any time soon.
  
  
• Performance: Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues that software developers never really stop meddling with.
  
  
• Documentation: Updates the documentation.
