Graphic Workshop Professional 12 Revision 11

Graphic Workshop Professional 12 has been updated.

In this release:

  • PNG: The PNG reader in Graphic Workshop and its ancillary applications has been updated to correctly handle interlaced PNG graphics with slightly funky code structures... of which there appear to be a substantial number. This is not a security issue, but it will prevent the occasional PNG from looking like a sand painting.

The PNG reader has also experienced a noticeable speed improvement.

  • Rename: The Graphic Workshop Rename window now includes a thumbnail of the graphic you've right-clicked on or the first graphic in a selected batch to visually confirm what you're about to change the name of.

  • Print: The Graphic Workshop Print window now includes a thumbnail of the graphic you've right-clicked on or the first graphic in a selected batch to visually confirm what you're about to render as hard copy.

  • MP3: A bug that caused the status display to misbehave when MP3 documents were written by Graphic Workshop has been disabused of its bad attitude.

  • Audio: A bug in the audio visualization logic, that created waveform plots of sound documents, has been addressed.

  • Icon Editor: The Graphic Workshop Icon Editor UltraLight application has has a number of issues addressed. Its Eyedropper tool now correctly works with the first row of pixels in a graphic. Ctrl-A now reliably selects an entire document. An issue that caused the alpha masks of transformed image fragments to display incorrectly in some cases is history. A bug that crashed the Resize window has been stomped. A Windows problem that caused a number of unpredictable behaviors when objects were drawn or dragged to the outermost column or row of pixels in a graphic under some configurations of Windows has been dealt with.

  • Filters: The Filters window in Graphic Workshop and e-Paint UltraLight has been updated to address a number of cosmetic problems.

  • Gradient: The Gradient section window that turns up in various places in Graphic Workshop and its ancillary applications has been updated to address a problem that prevented the center coordinates of a gradient from being set to negative values under some configurations of Windows.

  • e-Paint UltraLight: A bug in the tool palette window of e-Paint UltraLight that caused only the right half of examples brushes to be displayed has been addressed.

If you haven't experienced Graphic Workshop Professional 12 as yet, please see its initial release announcement for a list of all its new and enhanced functionality.

Alpha Paint 12 Revision 3

Alpha Paint 12 has been updated.

In this release:

  • Eyedropper Tool: A bug that prevented the Eyedropper tool from referencing pixels in the first horizontal line of some graphics has been addressed.

  • Ctrl-A: Ctrl-A now correctly selects an entire graphic.

  • Spray Can Tool: The tool palette now displays a preview image for the Spray Can tool.

  • Transform: A bug that could cause Alpha Paint's alpha masks to display incorrectly after using one of the Transform functions has been stomped.

  • Resize: A bug that could crash Alpha Paint after invoking the Resize function under some configurations of Windows is history.

  • Drawing Domain: A Windows problem that caused a number of unpredictable behaviors when objects were drawn or dragged to the outermost column or row of pixels in a graphic under some configurations of Windows has been dealt with.

The Ultimate Screen Clock 12 Revision 3

The Ultimate Screen Clock 12 has been updated.

In this release:

  • Select Clock Style: An issue has turned up in the Select Clock Style window in which scrolling past the Font clock item could destabilize or crash The Ultimate Screen Clock under some configurations of Windows. It has been dispatched to an alternate universe.

From the previous release:

  • JPEG Security: The Ultimate Screen Clock's Turbo JPEG library has been updated to the latest releases to address some security and image quality issues.

We'd like to urge all users of The Ultimate Screen Clock to update to this release as quickly as possible.

Keeping The Ultimate Screen Clock's JPEG readers up to date and secure being a substantial bulwark against the barbarian hoards, you can now check the TurboJPEG library's version in The Ultimate Screen Clock right-click → About → Credits window, right at the bottom of the scroll list. The current one is 2.1.3.

  • Netherworld: This release of The Ultimate Screen Clock includes the digital and analog Netherworld clock styles, which are seriously dark and goth and infernal and the stuff of legend. They come in multiple sizes and colors — the digital Netherworld styles are available with and without a bezel and with an optional spooky digital dissolve.

The example above arguably fails to do it justice — click on it for a larger clock. We should also point out that this graphic is an animation, not actual software. It's decidedly unlikely that it's displaying the correct time.

We hasten to add that most of the variations for the Netherworld style are available in the extra styles library for The Ultimate Screen Clock. Be sure to download and install it for the total Netherworld experience.

  • Select Clock Style: The Select Clock Style windows in The Ultimate Screen Clock have been updated to make them shockingly quick.

  • Small Analog Styles: A bug that caused a number of the smaller analog clock styles to be displayed with damaged graphics has been ruthlessly stomped.

  • Rendering Engine: The clock rendering engine has been updated to improve the appearance of outlined straight hands.
