Graphic Workshop Professional 11
Revision 15
|
Graphic Workshop Professional 11
has been updated to address a few issues that got past
us last weekend. In this release:
- Multiple
Image Select: A bug in the multiple image
selector in the previous release could cause it to
spuriously report a file read error under some
configurations of Windows when it was asked to
select one image from a multiple-image document,
such as an ICO file. It has repented of this
behavior.
- Print
Preview: The Print Dodecahderon and Print Cube
Preview windows can now be closed by clicking
outside them.
- Social
Media: The Social media formatting window's
Watermark option could previously crash Graphic
Workshop under some configurations of Windows. This
has been addressed.
- More
Social Media: The Social media formatting
window's Watermark option failed to display a
preview image under some configurations of Windows.
This too has been addressed.
From the previous release:
- Crop
Window: Graphic Workshop's Crop window has
been updated to address a range error that
prevented the cropping rectangle from being sized
all the way to the edges of its images on some
display hardware.
- RAR:
The internal RAR archive manager has been updated
to address a memory issue that could see the same
memory object freed twice, and crash Graphic
Workshop.
- Comment
Editor: An issue with the Edit Comments
window that prevented it from saving comments to
JPEG and PNG documents under some configurations
of Windows has been nailed.
- Notification
Sound: The default notification sound that
signals the conclusion of various processes around
the application has been updated to play even if
Windows is mis-configured such that a standard
noise isn't available... which seems to be a
thing.
- Archive
Manger: The Archive Manager application that
installs with Graphic Workshop now includes a
configuration option to hide zero-length archive
entries.
- GIF
Player: The View window for GIF animations
has been updated to handle several non-standard
format variations that could hitherto crash the
application.
- Destination
Prompts: The Proceed prompts in Graphic
Workshop's Destination window can be dismissed by
clicking outside them, should you change your
mind.
- TWAIN
Interface: The TWAIN scanner interface has
been updated to discourage some scanner windows
from hiding behind Graphic Workshop after they
open. No, we don't know why they liked to do so in
the past... some questions are better left
unanswered.
- View
Windows: The View windows for the various
animation formats supported by Graphic Workshop
can now be closed by clicking outside them. Note
that this behavior can be disabled through Graphic
Workshop's Setup window, should you prove not to
favor it.
- Transform:
The Transform functions that involved resizing
graphics have enjoyed a noticeable speed
improvement.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance
issues that software developers never really stop
meddling with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

The Ultimate Screen Clock 11 Revision
4
|
The Ultimate
Screen Clock 11 has been updated. In this release:
- Diode:
The Diode clock style style channels the
awesome, leading-edge technology of the twentieth
century... which, yes, was quite a long time ago.
It's retro without involving any actual vacuum
tubes. Diode comes in four colors, with and without
a dissolve effect between its digits. The latter
looks seriously cool.
We hasten to add that the foregoing clock is an
animation, not actual software. It's extremely
unlikely that it's telling the correct time as you
read this.
- WebP and JPEG: The WebP
and JPEG libraries have been updated to produce the
best possible output quality.
The updated JPEG library addresses several potential
security threats. This one's particularly important
if you download graphics from the Internet to use a
screen saver backgrounds.
We'd like to urge all users of The Ultimate Screen
Clock to update to this release as quickly as
possible.
- Rendering
Engine: Several issues with The Ultimate
Screen Clock's rendering engine have been addressed,
to produce more consistent graphics.
- Performance:
Addresses a number of GDI and performance issues
that software developers never really stop meddling
with.
- Documentation:
Updates the documentation.

number of page metrics.
